Boarding Service

Do you need to board your dog or cat for your vacation plans?  Consider the boarding service at Ridgemont Animal Hospital for your needs.  We provide the following:

• State of the art climate controlled boarding facility with heated/air conditioned runs.
• Large fenced in yard for individual exercise.
• Stainless steel construction for cleanliness.
• Well lit and clean kennel areas.
• Personalized care for your pet.
• Separate canine and feline rooms with "cat condos" for your feline's pleasure and exercise.
• Exam by our licensed veterinary technician.
• Complimentary bath if boarding for more than 2 days for dogs.

Our boarding facility is small to offer personalized attention.  Other services like individualized interaction and playtime, minor grooming, and veterinary services can be done while your pet boards for an additional fee.

Individualized Playtime

Individualized playtime and interaction with your pet is available for an additional fee.  This service includes one half hour per day of playing with your pet utilizing their toys and a daily brush out.  Your pet will thank you for this!!!

Daycare Service

We are offering a "day care service" for those clients who need to have their dog watched just for the day.  While your dog is here we will interact with them, play, and work on basic obedience.  This service can be used one to five times per week.  This service is for anyone who is desirous of having a more well behaved, socialized dog.  It is also great for getting your puppy started off on the right foot!

Additional Services

• PLEASE NOTE THAT PETS with medical problems or advanced geriatrics in need of daily medical exams will be elevated to "Doctor Supervised boarding" status.  There is an additional fee for this service.
• Certain surgical procedures can be done while boarding with the discretion of our doctors.
• Minor grooming, ear care, anal gland expression, lab work, and vaccines are a few of the other procedures that can be performed for your convenience while boarding your pet.
• Owners with pets in need of daily medications can be assured they will receive them.  There is a small additional fee for this service.

Requirements to Board

We require that all patients be "flea-free" when they are admitted to board.  Each pet will be flea-combed at admission time, if live fleas or flea dirt is found upon examination, the pet will be de-fleaed with appropriate baths and mediations, as deemed necessary, at owner's expense.  We also require that pets be current on all vaccinations and required lab work, please see below for requirements for cats and dogs.  If your pet is not already a patient at Ridgemont Animal Hospital a pre-board exam will be required.

Cats

• Rabies Vaccine
• Distemper Vaccine
• Leukemia/Aids test
• Negative stool sample

Dogs

• Rabies Vaccine
• Distemper Vaccine
• Kennel Cough Vaccine
• Heartworm test
• Negative stool sample

Personal Belonging

Our facility is well equipped with bowls, blankets, and leashes.  We kindly ask that you do not bring any of these items as we are unable to take responsiblity for damage or loss of these items.  We also provide food and treats but pets that are finicky, have special diets, or stressful boarders, we ask that you bring your own food.  This also helps decrease any intestinal upset that could lead to vomiting or diarrhea. 

Emergency Information

At admission we will ask for an emergency number, so please bring with you a number that we can reach you at.  If we will be unable to reach you personally, please bring a number of someone that can speak on your pets behalf and authorize treatment in the event your pet becomes ill during his/her stay with us. 

Additional Information

If someone other than yourself will be picking up your pet please leave their name and number at the time of admission.

Pick-up times are generally scheduled in the afternoon or evening, due to the fact of a complimentary bath given to any dogs that have stayed with us 2 or more nights.  This allows ample time for pet to be dried and brushed before you pick up.
